Our passion is the long-term well-being and health to those who visit us, helping them lead a pain-free life with as much freedom from pain or dysfunction as possible.

Rather than just treating the symptoms of pain, our practitioners look beyond the areas of immediate pain and consider the body as a whole. We seek to identify the causes of pain and dysfunction and work alongside you to minimise their impact.

We provide strategies you can apply beyond the clinic to combat postural problems, bio-mechanical factors, repetitive strain and/or micro trauma for example.

Our goal is to prevent the recurrence of pain, so you can get back to what’s important – living your optimum life!

New Patient Information

Osteopathy

Please allow up to 45 minutes for your initial consultation.

We will initially get you to fill in our New Client Forms and then will discuss your complaint in detail and go over your medical history.  More importantly we need to establish what your goals with osteo are and what you want to get out of the treatments.

Following this we will perform an assessment of you and establish a diagnosis. Largely we will see how your body and joints are moving, as well as assess what muscles and tissues/joints are feeling tight. Depending on your presentation, we may need to perform some non invasive tests- such as nerve and neurological testing, orthopaedic and joint testing, taking your blood pressure etc.

Lastly we will treat you, in a manner that is comfortable for you.

We will discuss management strategies and what you need to do to get you back to 100% as soon as possible, as well as prevention strategies to keep you that way and stop any further issues.

How many treatments will you need?

This is very dependant on why you have come into see us and what type of condition or injury you have, its severity and how long you have had it for.

We have to acknowledge and appreciate that everyone heals at different rates and factors such as diet, exercise, stress, type of work and activities etc. all play a part especially if you are dealing with chronic or ongoing pain.

Our biggest aim and goal is to not only to treat your symptoms but the reasons why this has occurred and to provide you with a tailored management, strategy and advice to assist you in getting your function better, and reducing any chance of this occurring again.

Acupuncture and TCM

Your first visit is often longer than follow up visits, generally it will take up to 1 hour as it entails quite a bit of questioning to ensure we can give you the best treatments possible.

The initial questioning is a very important part of the care your acupuncturist can provide to you. While many of the questions may seem entirely irrelevant to your condition, for example asking the amount of energy you currently have when you came in for back pain, or your psychological state when you came in for menstrual problems, there are very good reasons behind the questions. The answers you provide as well as other diagnostic tools, such as looking at your tongue and feeling your pulse, allow the acupuncturist to tailor the treatment specifically to you for your particular concern..

This individual tailoring of treatments is one of the strong points of our acupuncturists and is why people may experience broad changes within themselves after receiving acupuncture for a specific complaint.
