FAQ's

Do I need a GP referral?

No, Our Osteopaths and Acupuncturists are primary health care providers, so you do not need a referral for an appointment. But we also will accept any GP referrals to Inner Balance Health Clinics also.

What do Osteopaths Treat?

Our Osteopaths focus on the body as a whole, with all components interrelated, they will assess and treat the muscles, joints of the whole body. They work to reduce the pain caused by injuries, pain and dysfunction such as back pain, headaches, arthritic pain, postural related issues and pain. They mobilize, massage/soft tissue and stretch the muscles and joints in order to create a reduction in the discomfort being caused by dysfunction/injury in these areas. Quite often our Osteopaths will not only treat the area that you are complaining of, but will also check adjacent regions to make sure that your body is functioning optimally and there is no other compensation or attributing factors to why you have come in for a consult

Do you treat the elderly or newborns/infants?

We definitely do! The techniques and treatment chosen are more gentle and modified and extremely safe for you. If you have any further questions about this then please give us a call at the clinic

What about my Private Health?

We have a Hicaps terminal on site, so if you have private health cover with extras, then we can do your rebate on the spot, and all you need to do is pay the gap/difference.

Please check with your private health fund in regards to whether you are covered by our Osteopathy or Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture consults

Can I claim with Medicare?

Yes, however, you do require a referral to the clinic from your General Practitioner with an EPC or CDM plan.

You are allowed a maximum of 4 osteopathic treatments, each subsidised by $52.95. Please note, that you will be required to pay the difference between the Medicare rebate and our Consultation costs.

Do I need to bring anything?

If you have a referral, any x-rays or test results relevant to why you are coming in, that would be great.

What should I wear?

General loose and comfortable clothing is ideal, we quite often need to see the area that we are assessing and treating, so you may be asked to remove/move some clothing during the consultation. You can bring some other clothing such as shorts and a singlet if you find that more comfortable. We can provide gowns to our clients also if required.

Do you accept workcover or DVA/TAC

Yes we do,

Please make sure that you have all the appropriate paperwork, claim numbers and approval prior to your appointment. Please note that we require payment upfront on the day of consultation, and you will need to apply to the relevant company/organization for reimbursement of the consult costs.
