Heather completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement at RMIT, where her keen interest in anatomy and physiology drew her to further study in allied health. She then completed a Bachelor of Complementary Medicine and Masters in Osteopathy, also at RMIT.
Due to her exercise science background and playing a lot of sport as a junior, which had her plagued by her own injuries, Heather has developed a special interest in treating sports injuries affecting adolescents and early teens. She has a particular passion for injuries to the lower limb associated with AFL, soccer and basketball.
Heather has experience in treating a range of athletes from the recreational to elite level having worked with local football and basketball teams and Victorian State Hockey teams, as a result, she understands the importance of prevention and rehabilitation of injuries to help athletes perform at their best in their chosen sport.
She has a genuine concern for her patient’s health and she enjoys the challenges of diagnosing and treating as well as strategising ways to prevent the re occurrence of common musculoskeletal complaints. She uses a strong direct approach to treatment with emphasis on soft tissue massage, stretching, articulation, MET and joint manipulation to help alleviate her patient’s aches and pains.
Heather enjoys meeting new patients and likes to spend her spare time relaxing and socialising with friends and family.
